Psychological Assessments
Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)
Victims of motor vehicle accidents may face several changes in their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, trauma, fear, difficulty with memory and concentration can impact their day to day functioning and their overall quality of life. Individuals may not be aware that they can receive psychological services (i.e. assessments and psychotherapy) which are covered by the automobile insurance provider. Please contact our office to inquire.
WSIB/Work related injuries
Following a work-related accident, individuals may encounter difficulties (i.e depression, anxiety, trauma, cognitive compromise) which may impact their ability to return to work. Through WSIB, individuals can receive psychological services (i.e. assessment, psychotherapy) which can assist in providing the tools needed to return to gainful employment. Please contact our office to inquire.
Immigrants and refugees
Individuals who have recently immigrated are in the process of acquiring a refugee status may experience many stressful experiences. These could include but are not limited to: war-trauma, migration stress, and post-migration stress. They also suffer from many physical and psychological symptoms and disorders, partly owing to the stressful experiences they have had. Assessing the stressful experiences and the symptoms and disorders is challenging, partly because the sheer number of events and symptoms can be overwhelming to discover for investigators and to hear and process by clinicians. Please contact our office to inquire.
